Jim Suhler made a name for himself in Texas as one of a number of fine young Texas guitar slingers coming out of the Dallas area. In recent times, Suhler has stepped into the national spotlight as the second guitarist for George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Blasting out Texas blues/rock for over seventeen years, Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat announce the February 17, 2009, release of the band's new cd, Tijuana Bible, which will be released in the U.S. on Underworld Records, distributed nationally by Burnside Distribution.

Come laugh with the nation’s top comedians as they battle it out for the title of "The Inland Northwest's Best Comedian." It's winner-take-all $500.00 grand prize for our participants but you'll be the real winner as the jokes keep coming. One night only, starting at 8:30PM on Friday July 17th, please join us for an early dinner! There is a 10 dollar ticket charge at the door.
Live Music and Dancing Five Nights A Week
Bluz at The Bend is the only club in Spokane with live music and dancing five nights a week, Wednesday through Sunday. Bands start at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday; 9:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. Every Sunday, we have Jam Night at 8:00 pm.
Comedy Open Mike Every Thursday at 7:00pm
Clubs all over the Pacific Northwest are looking for stand-up comedians for their stages! Sign-up starts at 7:00 pm every Thursday; practise performing with the light in your eyes in our showroom. Performer, club, and agency owner Don Parkins provides coaching. Our open mikers do get show stage time and their names in lights here at Bluz when they are ready. No ticket charge. Both comedians and audience members are needed; comedians do appreciate feedback from noncomedians, so come up, have a beer, and make your opinions known!
